Vir Das asks budding designers to dress him for his next show, fans praise him: ‘That’s so thoughtful of you’

Vir Das shared a message for budding fashion designers on Instagram. Sharing a note, Vir urged people who “didn’t belong in the industry” to style him for his next stand-up show. This is not the first time that Vir has promised to give such an opportunity to new designers. Last year, Vir selected a 4th-year fashion student from well-known designers to craft her Emmys outfit. Vir shared a note and captioned it: “Calling budding designers! Send us your business/folio, etc. Here we go again. Vir’s note reads, “Okay. I’m shooting a comedy special. Need an outfit. So that’s where we do what we do and give new designers opportunities. Rules: You must be a student or brand new. You cannot be established or from “industry” and if you are, recommend a friend who could use this photo. To be clear, the more amateur you are, the less interested.

The actor and comedian went on to write, “Email us at [email protected] and if we select you, we’ll pay you to do the outfit, credit you in the special credits, and lots of people on it. will show your creation Vibes: Not too formal. Indian fusion. Something I can wear with kicks. Move and breathe too. Blacks and browns are my friends. Nothing with too much swag or too much effort. I have to be simple. Come on!”
