Consumers may claim to be sustainability-conscious, but their obsession with Shein tells a different story.
The Chinese fast fashion e-commerce brand was the most downloaded app in the United States in May, according to Marketplace tracking firm Pulse. Like rivals such as H&M and Zara, Shein regularly offers trendy clothes at exceptionally low prices – a sundress costs around $14, for example. The brand is also in growth mode. Earlier this year, he became the first exclusive fashion partner of the Stagecoach Festival in California and hosted an in-person pop-up store in Las Vegas.
