Expert leaves people divided as he spells out unspoken rule of attending a wedding

A FASHION guru has left people divided after he spelled out the clear and unspoken rule of attending a wedding – so what do you think?

When it comes to being invited to a wedding, there’s one unwritten rule that has sparked more debate than any other: attend someone’s big day dressed all in white.

While some think you should be able to wear whatever your preferences are, many believe that showing up in a white outfit — or any light color — will steal the show from the bride.

Style genius Lindsay Albanese is among those who fall into the latter category and took her to TikTok to share her opinion.

“Every one of you needs to stop wearing this – just stop wearing white for traditional weddings,” the celebrity stylist urged.

The only exception, she added, was if that was what the bride and groom had requested.

“Unless it says on the invitation to wear white, don’t wear anything in the white territory. ”

Lindsay, who has over 646,000 followers on TikTok, then showed off some clothes and explained why they might not be a smart choice for a wedding attendee.

“This dress – oh it’s ok, it’s got black in it.

”No – it’s mostly white,” she replied.

How about chic wide leg pants paired with a tight black top?

“Oh, the hero element of this outfit is white – hence we can’t wear it,” the expert pointed out.

A light garment, say cream colored, is surely acceptable as it is not white, is it?

Not necessarily, according to the stylist.

”Cream, eggshell, vanilla – it’s the same family.

“Guys, it’s the day of the bride. She’s been waiting for this forever.

“Give her her moment in the one color only she should wear.

“It doesn’t matter if it’s a top, bottom or both, there’s a whole other rainbow of colors you can wear to a wedding.

”Take this as an opportunity to do so,” she concluded the clip.

However, Lindsay’s opinion left viewers divided, with a large portion of them disagreeing with what she said in the video.

One person commented, “Honestly, I don’t care as long as no one else is wearing a wedding dress.

”It’s just clothes, no need to make a fuss about it.”

Another agreed: “Yeah…unpopular opinion.. I don’t care if anyone wears white to my wedding…like those outfits don’t even come close to my dress. ”

A professional added: “I’ve worked with brides for twenty years and you’d be surprised how many of them don’t care these days. ”

But there were also many who shared the same opinion as the famous stylist, like this TikTok user: “Not even a dress with white! THANK YOU!!”

“SAY IT LOUDER FOR PEOPLE IN THE BACK! There are several other beautiful dresses/colors out there!!!” wrote a second.
